Dr. Julia Mulnick, DDS, FICOI, FAGD was born and raised in California. After moving to North Carolina in 1991, she graduated top of her class with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. She practiced dental hygiene in private practice for more than 12 years and devoted a year as a clinical instructor at the University of Chapel Hill for first-and second-year dental hygiene students. She earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from UNC-Chapel Hill and is now a partnered dentist at Gentle Family Dentistry in Wake Forest, NC.
Her early volunteer experience with the NC Missions of Mercy clinics and international dental experiences in Mexico and Guatemala emphasized the power of genuine care and compassion for people and their smiles.
Dr. Mulnick has been in the field dentistry for over 30 years. She has continued to commit herself to advanced education which enabled her to earn her Fellowship in the International Congress of Implantologists in 2017. In 2020, Dr. Mulnick completed the Advanced Curriculum in The Dawson Academy and became a Dawson Academy Scholar. In 2021, Dr. Mulnick completed over 500 hours of continuing education in the 16 disciplines of general dentistry to apply for and pass the comprehensive exam and was awarded her Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD). Only 6% of general dentists achieve this prestigious fellowship reinforcing her professional obligation and desire to provide the highest quality oral healthcare to her patients. Her drive for knowledge empowers her to provide the best techniques, technologies and materials to her patient’s oral health and overall well-being.
When Dr. Mulnick is not in the office, she is training for ultra-running events. Any spare time that she has you will find her in Brevard, NC, or backpacking out West. She has an exceptionally supportive husband, Dave, and two grown children who live and work in Raleigh. She has three step-children that are in Raleigh and Charleston, SC. She has been blessed with two beautiful grandchildren nearby to keep her laughing and full of “Gigi pride.”
